Intended purpose
DeBakey atraumatic tissue forceps are intended for use by vascular and thoracic surgeons to grasp and manipulate delicate vascular and thoracic tissue during open vascular and thoracic operative procedures. The forceps are applied to blood vessel walls and thoracic tissue within the operative field. The non-traumatic longitudinal jaw serrations minimise intimal and adventitial vessel injury during handling. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
