Intended purpose
Bone rongeur is intended for use by orthopaedic surgeons and neurosurgeons to bite and remove cortical and cancellous bone tissue during bone resection and decompression procedures. The rongeur is applied to osseous tissue within the operative surgical field. The bite action removes bone tissue in small controlled fragments, allowing precise contouring of bone margins. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
