Intended purpose
Miller straight laryngoscope blade is intended for use by anaesthetists and emergency physicians during direct laryngoscopy for visualisation of the larynx and vocal cords in patients requiring orotracheal intubation or airway assessment. The blade is inserted into the oropharynx with direct elevation of the epiglottis. The blade size is selected based on the patient age and airway anatomy to provide optimal epiglottis elevation and laryngeal visualisation. The blade is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
