Intended purpose
Sclerotome knife is intended for use by ophthalmologists to incise the sclera during ophthalmic surgical procedures. The instrument is applied to scleral tissue of the operative eye. The blade angle and length are designed to achieve a precise scleral incision without penetration of the choroid or vitreous. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
